About Me

Michael Lamb, Licensed Massage Therapist
Associates of Occupational Studies in Massage Therapy
Certificate in Sports Massage/Certificate in Orthopedic Massage

I am a 2013 graduate of the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, finishing with over 1100 hours of training and study. The specificity of my training has given me a phenomenal foundation to have my strengths as well as to be mindful of my weaknesses and to work on them. My practice is centered in relaxation of the body, individual muscles, and optimum range of motion and the pursuit thereof. Massage therapy as a field is covered with misinformation, both perpetuated by lack of education from the public as well as individual therapists spouting information unchecked. I am the first to admit if I'm not knowledgeable of an aspect of bodywork rather than have an answer just to seem smart. My hope is to convey a sense of empowerment towards each client that enables them to make sense of the bodywork and how it relates to their day-to-day life. I'm very willing to be "wrong" in an instance so long as a learning opportunity is presented. Teamwork is at the very core of the client-therapist dynamic; I encourage an open line of communication between the people that choose to see me and myself. I hope to be a good match with my clients and I will tailor my services to meet your needs. I offer myself as a massage therapist because I care about the human experience. I find importance to move around this world without pain or restriction- I believe it should feel good to move around and use your body. Stress management is a foregone ideal that has been slowly creeping its way back into the mainstream Being proactive about finding relaxing niches in your life taps into that same ideal of empowerment which leads to happier living, in my experience at least.
Growing up in Sedona, Arizona has instilled a profound love for the outdoors. My home away from a massage table is the woods, camping around Northern Arizona and exploring the state. Between the countless hikes in Sedona, fishing at Dead Horse State Park in Cottonwood, the local Ultimate Frisbee group, I enjoy my time in the sun. The kitchen is another comfortable frontier of mine, where creativity and function meet and the quest for healthy eating is endless. I try to keep in mind that life is as much a practice as it is a performance- with tribulations come perspective and growth, with celebrations come humility and gratitude. That last note, gratitude, is what is invoked the most when I take a look back on the past, present, and future. If you've made it this far, I appreciate your reading into this page and I hope you'll see the rest of the website. I look forward to getting in touch, pun intended.
